Sale Prep // dresses on sale

This dress is on SALE!!! Seriously, its an amazing price which is why I snagged it over the weekend – runs a little short so if that bothers you I recommend going up one size. Also at the bottom of this post I shared a TON of others all $40 and LESS!!! Thank you, Summer dress Gods.

Hi friends! Hope you all have had a wonderful week/weekend over the 4th of July. We hosted a BBQ and it was one of our biggest yet, it was so great having so many friends and family here at our new home to help us break it in. I always try to keep the parties I host at home super laid back, comfortable, and easy because the last thing I want to be is a host running around like a crazy person. I let go of attempting to have the perfect Pinterest party years ago and I never looked back. Darshan and I are casual people, laid back, and want our house to feel like home to all of our guests so you better believe the playroom was in overdrive, the music was loud, and we never look twice at who is sitting on our couch and with what – everything is washable and everything is repairable, my thoughts on the matter are that when you make someone feel like a toddler in a porcelain house, that discomfort will never fade and my overall goal is to make everyone feel like they can kick their feet up and relax. If you make your guests feel at ease, they will want to come back and will be excited to visit more in the future. I find people care less about decor and more about the vibe, the food, and the drinks. So needless to say, we had a full vibrant house and truly enjoyed ourselves, I already can’t wait for next year’s party.

There are some exciting things coming up this week and I wanted to get a head start on introducing them to you. You know I am no stranger to a great sale, and one of the year’s biggest sales hits later this week and I am already all over previewing the items and making my list for it, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is alwayyyyys packed with amazing deals which I am all over this year (especially with that growing boy of mine). I typically do not do aggressive coverage of the sale, you know it is not my style, but because I always shop this sale as its one of my favorites, I do want to share what I find and love with you. When I was younger my grandma was on a first name basis with every sales associate at Nordstrom, and when the sale hit we would do so much back to school shopping during it, and now that I have a little man going into pre-k this fall I too am all over the stocking up! Not sure how many of you have shopped the sale in the past, but there are two different start dates and I wanted to come here to share the information on what that entails. July 12 starts the Early Access shop days, if you are a Nordstrom card holder you have the chance to shop the sale 8 days earlier than the general public. This may not seem like a huge deal, but with a sale like this it can be the difference between getting the Stuart Weitzman boots everyone is waiting for in your size vs them being sold out by the public access date. If you do not have a Nordstrom card, you can apply here or in store, if you shop at Nordstrom regularly this is a great card to have anyways because they are great about helping you earn points for gift cards, etc. What I plan to do for the sale is shop online when the sale goes live on July 12 and pick up in store that same day and then come here to share with you what I snagged – its the easiest way to guarantee you get everything you want and whatever you change your mind about later can easily be returned.

Here are some questions I have for you:

What types of items are you most interested in finding on sale?

Baby/Children’s clothing or gear?

Clothes and accessories you can wear now or for Fall?

Beauty or workout gear?

This is what I plan to shop personally: beauty (this is my favorite time to try new products since they go on sale), clothes I can wear now AND later in the year (seasons in California are so unpredictable, I hate buying something now that I can’t wear for 6 more months), booties for Fall, back to school clothes for Raj, denim for D (he loves designer jeans), and a new pair of everyday earrings for myself. Groundbreaking list, right?! Hahaha – did I mention I love a great sale? I know if you follow other bloggers it can feel overwhelming to keep up and it can be in your face a TON, last year I didn’t post a single thing about the sale because of that, but you know what? I bought sooo many things I used all year and found myself regretting not sharing those finds with you. Shopping this sale is something I have done my entire life with my family (they have shown me all the best ways to shop) and since this space is mine to share what I love, my hope is maybe I will post a photo or style something that you end up loving yourself. I do not want to overwhelm you, but I also don’t want you to miss out on treating yourself to something great! Make sense?

Make sure you snag this dress before its gone! It is so great for summer and easy to throw on as a swimsuit cover up. You can’t beat the price. Here are some other great finds, all $40 and under 😉
