Saying Farewell to Summer

Wow, has life been hectic these last few weeks! With all of the baby event preparation and Back to School Prep at work, I have been a little MIA from posting. These last couple of weeks of Summer have been crazy busy, I am ready for the calm of Fall and my regular daily schedule to set in… at least for just a couple of weeks before Baby comes, eeeek!
The weather has been amazing here is So Cal all summer. It is hard to believe that Fall is approaching with 80 degree weather and the endless sunshine (trying too hard not to brag), but that is just what makes California so special, right? Of course, I can not wait to bring out my cozy sweaters, booties, and hats (and snuggle up to my baby boy in his cozy blankets), but I am also very happy to enjoy these warm days and the last of my maternity styling!
Dressing for pregnancy during summer has been quite a challenge. Dresses have made it pretty easy on the style front, but with so many body changes, I would have been happy spending every day in a bathing suit, I am not afraid to admit that dealing with heat and ankle and foot swelling has been quite a difficult task. The last couple of weeks have been rough on my legs and feet, and although I have enjoyed every second of carrying my little guy around, I am getting pretty excited to have my feet looking good in shoes again! For a shoe lover like myself, this is a HUGE sacrifice.
As you can see, sandals have been the way to go, and with the leg swelling, I have become quite a fan of calf length dresses. This perfect summer dress I picked up at Zara recently was on SALE for $30! It was such a steal, and I am always a sucker for a good sale (what girl isn’t). It is not maternity, which I love, and because of the classic style and look, it will be a dress I will definitely have on repeat in summers to come!

I tend to always spend more time shopping for bags, shoes, and clothes, and less time on jewelry, so you have probably noticed that I mainly stick to basics in the jeweled department. It will be very rare that you see me in a gaudy necklace or with super chunky accessories, period. I love dainty pieces that can be worn with anything, and I am always a sucker for a piece with meaning. Gold is a go-to of mine, and dainty chains and stud earrings rule my jewelry box.

I just adored the look of this dress from the back end, the open back made it feel stylish and pretty, and I am not afraid to show off this summer tan!

Although my due date is quickly approaching, and we are so excited to meet our little boy, I have loved being pregnant so much that it is starting to make me a little sad knowing it is coming to an end. It is an experience I have yet to put into words, but the special bond I have shared with my little love is like nothing I have felt before. Besides just myself, it has been even more beautiful to see my husband bond with our baby boy as well. I have been so blessed with such a wonderful pregnancy, and have kept pretty healthy throughout the last 8 months, that when it is over, I know I will miss it. There isn’t anything that can replace this experience I have shared with my husband and my baby boy, and I feel so fortunate and blessed to be going through this journey!

Cheers to ending these last few weeks of summer on a high note, and let the Fall Countdown begin! New York Fashion week has started, and it is my favorite time of year to follow all of the great Street Style ensembles to come in the next couple of weeks! Can not wait to see what all of my favorite fashionistas sport off the runway!
As always, thank you for all of your endless love and support!
With love,
